The Dinner Table
After
reading "The Death of Pretty" by Pat Archbold and "Men Growing
Up to be Boys" by Lakshmi Chaudhry, I imagine if both authors sat down to
dinner, they would have many conversations in which their opinions would match
up. Lakshmi would start off by bringing up her concerns about how the young
male population is trying to void entering adulthood, and Pat would talk about
his view on how modern women prefer to be considered hot rather than pretty.
These two would share their opinions on each other's topics and start a
discussion on how society can try to fix these phenomena. Both authors
make great points about their own issues so I believe they will both argue
outstanding points about each other's issues. I believe these authors would
disagree on modern political issues regarding the republican versus democrat
debate on the role of women in today’s society. Lakshmi would bring up how men
are becoming more irresponsible in almost every aspect and pat would talk about
how the modern woman is seen as an object. Both Archbold and Chaudhry would end
the night by discussing the ups and downs of modern feminism and the resulting
issues.
