Benefits of being able bodied

Benefits of being able bodied:
1. I can be independent, I don't have to depend on anyone else to help me.
2. I have more of a chance at getting a job.
3. People will see me as reliable and capable to do things.
4. I wont have to worry about how I'm going to get place to place.
5. I wont have to worry about all the hospital bills from doctor visits.
6. I wont have to have my family members come and check up on me 24/7.
7. I would be judged less.
8. I am capable of completing more task more efficiently.
9. Less prone to bullying.
10. I don't have to rely as much on governments benefits.
11. Being able bodied makes me part of the "norm".
12. Would not miss school or work as much.
13. I don't have to pay to get things made specifically for a disability
14. I identify with able bodied people and therefore you identify with others like you. (influences circle of friends)
15. I don't need to spend a lot on my needs.

  1. After reading White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack by Peggy McIntosh I decided I wanted to tell my 15 things on how I am a Women.
    1. I don’t have to pay for dates
    2. Seen as a good person
    3. I can get free drinks
    4. I can get away with more.
    5. I don’t have to ask a guy to marry me or to go on dates
    6. Not expected to fix things
    7. Get more respect
    8. I get maternity leave
    9. Women tend to live longer
    10. Moms always tend to get the children in custody battles
    11. Get into bars for free
    12. My doors get opened for me
    13. People are more willing to help a women
    14. Don’t get drafted to go to war
    15. Assumed us girls are innocent

  2. After reflection on Peggy McIntosh's White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack I decided to dissect the perks of "College Life/College Students":
    1. College students have more education privileges
    2. College students often receive monetary assistance from parents/guardians
    3. Have less worldly responsibility
    4. Greater job possibilities/ opportunities
    5. More community activities/ volunteering opportunities
    6. Greater understanding about equality and respect
    7. More networking opportunities
    8. College Education provides a basis for correct money spending/saving strategies
    9. More free time
    10. Higher intellectual capacity
    11. More social evening schedules
    12. College students are more active
    13. Learn lifelong interpersonal skills
    14. College students learn levels of personal responsibility through work
    15. College students get to experience the process of growth and maturity alongside others of the same age and status
