A Constructive Dinner

After reading the articles "The Death of Pretty" (Pat Archbold) and "Men Growing Up to be Boys" (Lakshmi Chaudhry), I would assume their comparably strong traditional values would give them enough commonality to have a meaningful conversation. The restaurant they're meeting could even have a TV, as many commonly do these days, which would have decent potential of starting a conversation over the portrayal of masculinity and adulthood in pop culture portrayed in the inevitable ads as they cycle every 15 minutes. These two people seem to be so passionate about the degrading attitude toward responsibility that I anticipate this would be the topic of the majority of discussion. They both seem to have done some level of research into the progression of societies portrayed values, giving each a decent amount of conversation material offering different sides to a similar argument. After meeting each other, I believe each will have looked at this problem they think is so serious in a different light, which is important to have a more well rounded and persuasive argument. These authors would benefit from meeting someone as interested in current societal issues as they are.
