Turning Tables

As I sat and read “The Death of Pretty” and “Men Growing Up to be Boys” I felt as though the authors of both articles would have similar views on men and women in todays society. Both are saying that the views on men and women have changed drastically since years like the 50’s where women were conservative and men were supposed to be like their fathers, like a tradition, yet somewhere that tradition got lost. Even though these points may be similar it does not mean they are the same. Yes, most of the things both authors talk about do have some correlation they are also debatable. Some men or women may say that these views are still their own and may not have changed into what we see today as the “norm.” I feel as though the exchange between Pat Archbold and Lakshmi Chaudhry would be easy flowing. The two would get along in the views of society as a whole and how they would wish it were rather than how it is. The two authors could become close friends from this exchange of personal views on society and could potentially see maybe even a change around them if they tried to get some to conform back to what was rather than what is.
